Reporting Structure The High School Bible/PE Teacher reports to the High School Principal.

Position Overview:
St. Augustine Preparatory High School seeks a dynamic and passionate educator to serve as a Bible and Physical Education Teacher. This dual-role position holds primary responsibility for the social, emotional, and academic development of students while supporting their individual spiritual and physical growth. The teacher will provide high-quality educational experiences, promote a Christ-centered environment, and develop engaging, differentiated curricula for both Bible studies and physical education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a spiritual and cultural role model, demonstrating God’s love and interacting respectfully with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Design and implement curriculum and instructional strategies for Bible studies and physical education tailored to the diverse needs of students in grades 9-12.
  • Use academic and behavioral data to adapt instruction for both whole-group and small-group settings, ensuring all students achieve their full potential.
  • Foster students’ understanding of biblical principles, physical fitness, and healthy habits while encouraging social and emotional growth.
  • Teach knowledge and skills in scripture study, physical fitness, health education, dance, individual/team sports, and body movement.
  • Evaluate students’ academic, spiritual, and physical progress, maintaining accurate records and preparing progress reports in a timely manner.
  • Develop strategies and collaborate on Individual Education Plans (IEPs) when needed to support students’ unique needs.
  • Integrate technology into instruction and adapt to various student learning styles.
  • Provide safety instruction and conduct equipment and facility checks to ensure a safe learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and school counselors regarding student progress and wellbeing.
  • Select, requisition, and maintain instructional aids, equipment, and uniforms, ensuring proper inventory management.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and community members to support the school’s mission and create a positive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in teaching and learning.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree, including any other requirements for accreditation, etc.(Master’s degree a plus).
  • Certification: Wisconsin certification desirable but not required.
  • Faith Commitment: Participating member of a local church.
  • Skills: Effective oral and written communication skills; bilingual in Spanish preferred. Skilled in strategic planning, project management, and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Experience: Background in teaching, curriculum development, or urban education preferred.
