ROLE SUMMARY
God is working in great ways at Aug Prep. Having launched in 2017, the Aug Prep Chief of Schools - South Campus has the opportunity to step into leadership of Aug Prep’s founding campus already serving students, families and staff with a focus on Jesus, excellence and equipping the whole-child to empower our students to flourish in their lives beyond Aug Prep. As the “face” of the school, the Chief of Schools will model organizational and spiritual excellence while creating trust and buy-in.
RESPONSIBILITY SUMMARY
The Chief of Schools - South Campus is responsible for implementing Aug Prep’s mission, North Star, and organizational priorities across the South Campus, maintaining and growing a strong and Christ-centered staff as well as a school culture that equips students to become leaders of tomorrow.
REPORTING STRUCTURE:
Reporting to the School President, the Chief of Schools - South Campus is the senior leader overseeing all aspects of the South Campus instruction, culture, personnel, and operations. This role directly supervises the South Campus principals (high school, middle school, upper elementary, and lower elementary).
WHAT TO EXPECT:
On the one hand, the Chief of Schools - South Campus is jumping into an aspect of Aug Prep that is a well-oiled machine. Aug Prep’s mission-driven employees have created systems and processes that have allowed it to grow quickly with incredible success. On the other hand, Aug Prep is only seven years old and very much still a startup. We lead with an entrepreneurial and growth-mindset culture, seeking to have all staff constantly innovating to better serve kids and operate more effectively and efficiently. Yet, the youth of our organization also means there isn’t a depth of standard operating procedures to draw on nor have many ideas had the time to evolve into maturity. A successful candidate will be able to quickly absorb and learn the current status while planning ways to grow and improve. The first year will be about building trust and deeply understanding current models and processes as well as the “why” behind them. In their first year, the Chief of Schools - South Campus will have balanced making immediate improvements with planning and prioritizing long term solutions needed to move the school forward.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
• A belief in the God-given ability of every child and a commitment to ensure excellence and opportunities for Aug Prep students.
• A living faith in Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Alignment and commitment to the values, beliefs, and culture of Aug Prep with a desire to shine the love and light of Jesus in and through their work. Participating member in a local Church.
• 7+ years of experience in an education leadership role: principal, assistant head or head of school. • Advanced degree, preferably in education.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
• A results-oriented, entrepreneurial, and dynamic leader with a commitment to serving the whole child with excellence – mind, body and soul. Experience balancing academics, faith, arts, and athletics while embracing new and innovative ways to build and grow the campus and organization.
• Strong experience and track-record building teams, developing people, and recruiting/retaining strong teachers and staff.
• Skilled in strategic planning, project management, organization development, and team development; able to balance a focus on big picture priorities while not losing sight of the annual goals and objectives.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships with team, parents, and the community. Ability to quickly and efficiently fund solutions to problems and diffuse difficult situations. Excels at building relationships and networks; positively influences others to achieve outcomes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and make data-driven decisions.
• High level of integrity and the ability to handle confidential information with utmost discretion.
• Bilingual Spanish strongly preferred but not required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
